What happened
Samsung says USDC, a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the dollar, arrives in Samsung Wallet in the last week of October. USDC will be the default stablecoin when buying. Users will be able to send it to external crypto wallets and to bank accounts in 60+ countries.
Why it matters to you
It is one of the first phone-native ways to hold digital dollars without a separate exchange app. If you have family or clients in the US, they get another way to send money.
What to check and watch
Requires US residency, 18+, a Samsung Account, a compatible Galaxy on Android 13 or later, identity checks and biometrics. The exact date and bank-transfer fees will show at launch.
According to Samsung, the feature becomes available in the last week of October 2026 for eligible US users. USDC is the only stablecoin at launch. No exact day was given.
Custody runs through partners. Bastion, a licensed stablecoin custodian overseen by US regulators, powers the transfer infrastructure. Coinbase is the sub-custodian, holding all USDC in Samsung Wallet in Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung stresses that it is not a bank, money transmitter or custodian.
Sending USDC to external wallets carries no Samsung fee, but the recipient's wallet or exchange may charge one. Bank transfers to 60+ countries arrive in local currency; fees vary by country and amount and are shown before you confirm.
The 82 million figure is the number of compatible Galaxy devices in the US, not the number of users who can use the feature.
